High School Spitting Incident: A prep baseball coach in Currituck County asked players to spit in his face during practice.

Felicia Berry, Forestview track: Named N.C. High School Athletic Association female athlete of the week after leading her team to three N.C. 3A West regional event titles. She won the 200 (25.95 seconds) and ran anchor on the winning 400- and 800-meter relays. Berry was second in the 100 meters.

Alexander Central-Lake Norman baseball: Teams’ first round North Piedmont tournament game Monday lasted 18 innings and didn’t finish until after 11 p.m. Alexander Central won 11-9.

Stephen Curry Day at Charlotte Christian: the school will honor Curry, a former Christian basketball star and reigning NBA MVP, on Friday. Students are asked to dress in Golden State Warrior or school spirit wear. The students will sign a congratulatory framed memento that will be sent to Curry as a gift.

Tianna Batts, Alexander Central softball: 4-for-4 with four runs scored in a 27-0 win against Statesville in the first round of the North Piedmont tournament.

Max Bazin, South Mecklenburg baseball: 2-for-3 with an RBI in an 8-0 first round SoMeck 8 win over Olympic.

Alyssa Carbone, Rachel DeCouto, Central Academy girls’ soccer: A pair of hat tricks in a 9-0 win over Forest Hills. DeCouto and Tiffeny Ramirez had two assists each.

Kelsey Long, Indian Land girls’ soccer: Three goals in 10-0 win over Mid Carolina.

Joe McGoldrick, Queens Grant baseball: 2-for-3 with two doubles in a 3-0 win over Union Academy. He was also the winning pitcher.

Baylor Molnar, Carmel Christian baseball: 2-for-3 with five RBIs in a 14-0 win over Carolina Day.

Danielle Stradford, Hopewell softball: 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored in a 12-2 win over Mallard Creek in the first round of the MECKA 8 tournament.
