Providence-Ardrey Kell baseball: Charlotte’s top baseball rivalry resumes Friday in the SoMeck 8 tournament championship game. The teams meet at South Meck. First pitch is at 7 p.m.

Marvin Ridge dual team tennis: won its first two playoff matches, over Hibriten and Forestview, by a combined 15-0. The Mavericks will face East Rowan in the third round Monday.

Metrolina Christian boys, SouthLake Christian girls track teams: won the Metrolina Athletic conference championships at Winthrop Tuesday. SouthLake’s Brett Carter won the 100 and 200 meters. Concord First Assembly’s Elanna Peay had the same double for the girls.

Sean Nestor, Charlotte Catholic tennis: SoMeck 8 conference player of the year.

Wednesday’s Top Performers

Grayce Anderson, Charlotte Latin girls lacrosse: team captain scored her 200th goal in a 17-7 win over Providence Day. She’s been a four-year starter, two-year captain and three-time all-conference pick. Anderson, also a two-time all-state pick, now has 206 career goals and 82 career assists.

Novalee Hammond, South Meck softball: Winning pitcher in a 5-4 win over Charlotte Catholic in the SoMeck 8 tournament was also 2-for-4 from the plate.

Max Wotell, Marvin Ridge baseball: improved to 9-0 for the season in a 4-0 win over Weddington. He threw a 2-hitter.
