Charlotte Country Day girls capture third straight lacrosse state title
Led by four goals each from Lucy Pedlow and Riley Harrison, Charlotte Country Day’s girls’ lacrosse team won its third straight N.C. Independent Schools championship Saturday.
The Bucs beat Durham Academy 16-10 on Country Day’s home field. Country Day has played in every NCISAA championship game since the sport was recognized by its high school association seven years ago. Country Day has won five championships total.
Besides the eight goals from Pedlow and Harrison, Country Day got two goals each from Julia Loesch, Natalee Palmer and Jaclyn Perkins. Harrison, Palmer and Loesch all had two assists.
Durham Academy had three goals each from Leander Perun and Madison Dunk.
