3 area high school girls soccer stars named to All-America team

Three Charlotte-area high school girls soccer stars were named United Soccer Coaches Association All-Americans this week.

The players were Charlotte Catholic junior Eveleen Hahn, Charlotte Latin senior Mary Elliott McCabe and Weddington sophomore Faith Adams.

Hahn, also the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association player of the year, had 41 goals and 19 assists. Catholic finished 22-2 overall.


Hahn is committed to play college soccer at the University of South Carolina.


McCabe, a first-team all-state pick, had 43 goals this season leading Charlotte Latin to its fourth straight NCISAA 3A state championship. She also set the Latin career scoring mark with 117 career goals.


McCabe will play college soccer for North Carolina.


Adams was also a first-team all-pick by the NCSCA.


Adams, Hahn and McCabe were all selected to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.


Charlotte Catholic senior Lindsey Poff (Appalachian State signee), Myers Park senior, Weezie Targgart and Union Academy sophomore Sarah Brown, were also selected to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.
