Myers Park coach Scott Chadwick says his team’s focus is only on the opponent in front of them each Friday night.

The Mustangs, No. 3 in the Observer Sweet 16, scored early and often Friday to roll past Rocky River 56-0 to remain undefeated.

Myers Park (6-0) needed seven plays to go 45 yards on its opening drive, capped by a Drake Maye to Elijah Bowick 17-yard touchdown pass to put the Mustangs up 7-0.

Rocky River fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Myers Park senior running back Jatoine Fields scored on the very next play on a 28-yard touchdown run to give his team a 14-0 lead.

Maye, a sophomore quarterback, went 11-for-17 passing for 237 yards and three touchdowns, while Muhsin Muhammad had five catches for 132 yards and a touchdown, and also had one rush for 48 yards and another score on a fake punt.

The Mustangs’ defense also dominated, allowing only 146 totals yards of offense, including only 66 yards overall in the first half.

Myers Park led 28-0 after the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime.

Rocky River’s James Maye led the Ravens (2-4) with four catches for 61 yards.
