Lake Norman Charter: got 18 points from Donovan Atwell, 15 from Oliver O’Brien and 13 from Callahan Reed to beat East Lincoln 60-55 Friday and end East’s 26-game regular-season conference home win streak.

Katie Houpt, South Mecklenburg girls: career-high 14 points in a 54-35 win over Lanier (GA). Lanier is the reigning 6A state champions from Georgia.

Vance girls: Cougars, No. 5 in the Sweet 16, beat St Laurent from Canada 56 - 51 at the She Got Game Classic at Olympic HIgh. Amhyia Mooreland had 22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, Trinity Mooreland had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 Blocks and Tanajah Hayes had 10 points, 5 assists.

Knoah Carver, Charlotte Country Day: 26 points, fie rebounds in a 90-50 win over Lake Norman Christian.

Jalen Huntley, Forest Hills: 19 points, 11 rebounds in a 68-36 win over Concord.

Chase Lowe, Weddington: sophomore point guard had 22 points, six rebounds, five assists in a 57-47 upset of Sweet 16 No. 11 Charlotte Catholic.

Randy Johnson, Charlotte Latin: career-high 31 points, six assists in a 76-55 win over Virginia Episcopal.

Michael Zanoni, Providence Day: had 25 points in a 69-67 win over Mountain Island Charter. Zanoni had his third straight game making seven 3-point shots.

Friday’s Girls #BIG5 Top Performers

Dane Bertolina, Charlotte Catholic girls: Bertolina had a team-high 25 points as Charlotte Catholic upset No. 15 Weddington 50-38. Weddington outscored Catholic 13-2 in the fourth quarter. Bertolina, an App State commit, made six 3-point shots in the first three quarters. She finished with 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Teammate Imelda McMenamin finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds on 4 made 3s.

Mallorie Haines, Davidson Day: Davidson commit had 35 points, seven steals, five rebounds and three assists in a 73-10 win over Freedom Christian. Haines made 4-of-7 3-point attempts. She came into the game shooting 80 percent (no typo) from 3 this season.

Senali Moss, South Mecklenburg: 19 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in 54-35 win over Lanier (GA).

Brianna Tadlock, East Lincoln: 38 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 69-59 win over Lake Norman Charter. Jillian Villanti went for 30 for Lake Norman Charter.

Mia Xerras, Myers Park: freshman had career-high 22 points in a 59-40 win over Turbeville (SC) at the Beach Ball Classic. Xerra was 6-of-9 from the 3-point line and made all of her free throws. She also had six steals, four rebounds and three assists.
