Berry High star is Charlotte Observer boys basketball player of the week

Berry High School’s Maurice Brown is the Charlotte Observer boys basketball player of the week.

Brown, a 6-foot senior guard, averaged 22 points per game to lead the Cardinals to SoMeck7 conference wins over Olympic and Providence this week.

Brown started his week with 17 points in a 52-28 victory at Providence, Dec. 17. Two nights later, Brown poured in 27 points in a 73-69 upset of Olympic.

He is averaging 18.9 points per game for Berry (6-4) this season.
