Providence High star wins Charlotte Observer athlete of the week.

Providence junior swimmer Laura Davis is Charlotte Observer high school athlete of the week.

She won the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley to help the Panthers’ girls’ swim team beat South Mecklenburg Dec. 18, and remain a perfect 6-0 this season.

Davis, a three-time conference, regional and state qualifier is being actively recruited by several Division I schools, according to Providence swimming coach, Bill Davis.
