South Meck center is Charlotte Observer girls basketball player of the week

South Mecklenburg senior center Jackie Feit is the Charlotte Observer girls basketball player of the week.

The 6-3 senior got nearly 9,000 votes to finish ahead of West Rowan’s Abigail Wilson and Kings Mountain’s Saniya Wilson.

Last week, Feit averaged 11 points, 10.5 rebounds and eight blocks per game as the Sabres split games with Olympic and South Mecklenburg.

Feit had a triple-double, with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocks in a 52-41 win over Olympic Jan. 28. She also had eight points, eight rebounds, and five blocks in a 49-38 loss at Providence Jan. 31.

Feit is averaging 9.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game for South Mecklenburg.
