Cleveland County star is Charlotte Observer boys basketball player of the week
Kings Mountain High School’s Isaiah Tate is the Charlotte Observer boys basketball player of the week.
A 5-foot-11 sophomore, Tate averaged 29.5 points and 4.5 assists in games against Ashbrook and Shelby last week.
Tate accumulated more than 15,000 votes from readers to top West Stanly’s Trevor Kelly and Independence’s Jalen Hinton.
Tate had 30 points, including five 3-pointers, five assists and three steals in a 96-68 win over Ashbrook Feb. 4. Tate followed that up with 29 points, including four 3-pointers, four assists in a 86-66 loss at Shelby.
Tate is averaging 16 points and three assists per game for Kings Mountain (11-11).
