Friday’s prep basketball schedule: all 3 CMS conference tournaments will be played
Despite school being out Friday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools have been given special permission to play conference tournament games Friday night.
Usually when school is out, athletic activities are off. Boys semifinal games are scheduled Friday in the Southwestern, SoMECK and I-MECK conferences. If those were not completed tonight, the boys conference tournaments would likely have to be canceled. The state playoffs begin next week and the N.C. High School Athletic Association plays to begin the seeding process Sunday afternoon.

STATE BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS
Seeding and the release of brackets for the tournament, scheduled to start next week, have been delayed from Saturday to Sunday. The N.C. High School Athletic Association says it hopes that will give conferences extra time to finish tournaments or otherwise determine playoff qualifiers.

The NCHSAA has postponed the first day of the 2020 Individual Wrestling State Tournament to Friday at midday.
