When will high school football return? Well, it varies
So when will high school football return in North Carolina?
It depends on where you live.
The N.C. Independent Schools, which includes 94 private schools, ended their dead period last month and the first football teams hit the field Monday, including at Providence Day and Charlotte Christian.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association, which has more than 400 mostly public schools, will ends dead period Monday, June 15, and allow teams to return to the field.
The football teams are limited to conditioning drills.
Several major counties, including Mecklenburg and Wake -- the two largest in the state -- have chosen to wait until July 6.
