The Woodlawn School has added former Johnson & Wales college coach Jim Casciano to lead its boys basketball program.

Casciano has been part of coaching staffs that have won conference championships at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels. At Johnson & Wales in Charlotte, Casciano led the school to back-to-back appearances in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four. In 2015, he was named USCAA Division II national coach of the year.

“Jim brings great experience and a track record of building total programs,” said Woodlawn athletic director Shellee Young. “His philosophy and values are well aligned with the principles of Woodlawn, and we are looking forward to his work here as we build out the Total Program and take things to another level here.”

Woodlawn School, a K-12 Independent School, is a member of the Southern Piedmont Athletic Association as well as the NC Independent School Athletic Association. Woodlawn fields 13 teams in girls and boys basketball, cross country, track and field, swimming, boys tennis, and girls volleyball.
