Two new teams into the Sweet 16 prep football poll, and one of them lost last week
Two new teams join the Sweet 16 this week, and one of those schools lost last week.
Coach Jupiter Wilson’s Hickory Ridge team was impressive, with a 68-13 season-opening win at home against Hunter Huss.
The Ragin’ Bulls jump into this week’s poll at No. 10.
Also in this week, and for the first time in several years, are coach Joe Evans’ South Mecklenburg Sabres.
The Sabres had a four-game win streak snapped, dating to last year, but played nationally ranked Charlotte Catholic to a very tight game at Memorial Stadium, before losing 13-6.
South Meck is in at No. 14.
