Five - yes, 5 - new teams enter the Charlotte Observer Sweet 16 high school football poll
After a busy 48 hours of football Friday and Saturday, the Sweet 16 is getting a major shakeup heading into Week 3.
With Richmond Senior rallying to beat Butler in a memorable 32-29 win Saturday at Memorial Stadium Saturday, those two teams swapped places.
Richmond moved up a spot to No. 3. Butler dropped a spot to No. 4. Big movers this week were Burns, up four spots to No. 8 and South Mecklenburg, up five spots to No. 9.
There are also five new teams in the poll. All are unbeaten. Welcome Salisbury, Marvin Ridge, Porter Ridge, South Point, East Lincoln and Maiden to the rankings.
