Talking Preps: on Kanye West and the question of ‘pop-up schools’ and high school sports
A new Talking Preps debuts tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 12) at 8 p.m.
Basketball experts Rick Lewis and Randall Clark will join the show to discuss the rash of in-state basketball recruits leaving the state, including for Kanye West’s new Donda Prep, and whether or not this is good for high school sports.
▪ Chelsea sits down with Newton-Conover linebacker Xavion Coulter.
▪ There’s a major shakeup in the 1A and 3A high school football polls, and Chris breaks it all down.
▪ We’ve got a new No. 1 in the Mr. Football Watchlist, another big shakeup and Grice will make an announcement about the state player of the year award.
▪ We feature four new Fresh Faces: Rondell Carter, Chambers; Isaiah Dawson, Smithfield Selma; Toney McFadden, Sun Valley; and Shamar Sutton, Northeastern.
▪ Grice breaks down the top performers from last week, the Grice’s Gems: Alonza Barnett, Grimsley; Jason Chambers, Butler; Mason Fortune, MIllbrook; Daevin Hobbs, Robinson; and Daylan Smothers, Chambers.
▪ Hickory Ridge wide receiver Christian Hamilton, the No. 1 in-state recruit in the class of 2023, stops by to talk the season -- and to take down coach Greiner on the Game Show.
▪ And Chris will break down all of the state’s top games, and we’ll break down the N.C. game of the week: Maiden at Bunker Hill.
