Metrolina Christian’s Reid Eighmy, Hopewell’s Ty Thompson win HS football POTW awards

The Charlotte Observer’s high school football players of the week for the week of Oct. 29 have been announced.

On offense, Metrolina Christian’s Reid Eighmy won. In a 42-38 win over Cabarrus Warriors, Eighmy was 21-of-29 for 418 yards and five touchdowns. He ran for 25 yards.

On defense, Hopewell’s Ty Thompson took the award. He had nine tackles in a game with North Mecklenburg, giving him a new school single-season record.
