Five Mecklenburg County teams power way into 3rd round of NCHSAA soccer playoffs
Thursday night, five Mecklenburg County high school soccer teams advanced to the third round of the N.C. 4A playoffs.
Ardrey Kell beat Lake Norman 2-1. Hough beat Hickory Ridge 2-0. Providence beat Charlotte Catholic 1-0. South Meck beat West Forsyth 4-2. And Myers Park beat Cox Mill 2-0.
Round 3 is Monday.
Hough (19-3-1) will host Ardrey Kell (14-3-4). Providence (17-1-2) will host Weddington (14-3-3). The other two Mecklenburg teams will travel Monday -- South Meck (15-3-4) at Asheville Reynolds (18-3-2) and Myers Park (13-2) is at Southwest Guilford (21-1-1).
State quarterfinals are Nov. 11, semifinals March 16 and state finals Nov. 19-20.
