Kyler Harris, Porter Ridge: career-high 29 points in a 60-58 win over Cuthbertson.

KC Shaw, Mooresville: 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals in a 66-57 win over West Cabarrus.

Davis Wagner, Lake Norman: 33 points, 16 rebounds in a 90-84 loss to Cox Mill. It was Wagner’s seventh double-double of the season.

South Meck boys basketball coach Gary Hall got his 500th career win Friday night

South Mecklenburg coach Gary Hall got his 500th win Friday night after the Sabres beat Olympic 68-64.

Peter Moye (22 points), Bishop Boswell (19) and Jacob Newman (15) led a balanced South Meck scoring attack.

Hall is in his second year at South Meck and his 28th year overall. He came to South last season after leaving St. Thomas Catholic in Houston. Hall was also a previous the McDonald’s All-American Game West team coach.

Myers Park 71, Berry Academy 44 ... A.J. White’s 21 points led the Mustangs to a South Meck 4A triumph. Sire Mohammed and Elijah Strong each added 15 points.

Charlotte Catholic 50, Butler 44 ... The Cougars scored the game’s final six points, taking a Southwestern 4A road victory.

Stuart Cramer 84, Ashbrook 58 ... The Storm, off to the best season in school history, ran its overall record to 11-0, as Justin Rocquemore had 17 points and five steals. Will Kelly added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Forestview 66, Hunter Huss 57 ... Antwan Corbin’s 14 points and Brandon Alfonse’s 13 lifted the Jaguars to a Big South 3A victory.

East Lincoln 65, St. Stephens 35 ... Drew Bean scored 18 points, and Jeremiah Jones added 10, as the Mustangs improved to 12-2 and 5-0 in the Western Foothills 3A.

At halftime, East Lincoln retired the baseball jersey of alum Alec Burleson, a second-round pick in 2020 by the St. Louis Cardinals. Burleson wore No. 10.

Gaston Day 69, Hickory Grove Christian 44 ... Jack Britt scored 30 for the Eagles in their Metrolina Athletic Conference victory.

Mooresville 66, West Cabarrus 57 ... The Blue Devils (11-1, 3-1) scored a Greater Metro 4 4A triumph, behind K.C. Shaw’s double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds). Evan Ezhlian added 14 points.

North Rowan 68, West Davidson 43 ... The Cavaliers rolled to a Central Carolina 1A-2A victory, behind Quashawn Carpenter’s 19 points.

Central Cabarrus 95, West Rowan 58 ... The Vikings remained unbeaten (15-0) and rolled to a South Piedmont 3A victory. Chase Daniel (26 points) and Jaiden Thompson (21) led the effort.

Weddington 60, Piedmont 42 ... The Warriors, ranked No. 1 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll, opened Southern Carolina 4A play with a victory, behind Chase Lowe (19 points) and A.J. Cook (17).

Christ the King 58, Community School of Davidson 48 ... Jesse Filiault’s 23 points led the Crusaders to victory in their Catawba Shores 1A-2A opener. Joe Kuhn added 15 points.

Carolina International 95, Apprentice Academy 47 ... Kimman Power hit 1-of-13 from the floor and scored 26 points, as the Comets improved to 4-0 in the Metro 8 1A. Jermayne Brewston added 17 points and eight assists for the victors.

Hickory 86, West Iredell 35 ... The Red Tornadoes (13-1, 4-1 Western Foothills 3A) outscored West Iredell 49-12 in the second half.

Metrolina Christian 62, Northside Christian 57 ... Eli Clark’s 12 points and Michael Wilson Jr.’s 10 points and eight rebounds lifted the hosts to a Metrolina Athletic Conference victory. Mychael Mitchell had 15 points, four assists and four steals for Northside Christian.
