Weddington boys, Myers Park girls maintain their top spots in Observer Sweet 16 polls

Weddington’s boys and Myers Park’s girls maintain their grips on the No. 1 spots in the Observer’s Sweet 16 polls this week.

The Mustangs girls team has won seven straight games to improve to 14-5 after playing a vigorous pre-conference schedule that included matchups against some national-level competition.

Myers Park is scheduled to play three times next week: Tuesday at against Mallard Creek, Friday against Berry and Saturday against Bishop McGuinness, all at home.

Weddington has moved into the top 25 national rankings in the Fab 50 national poll compiled by Ball is Life.

The Warriors have two road games next week: at Cuthbertson and at Porter Ridge as they look to close in on the Southern Carolinas conference championship.

Records are through Friday’s games
