Weddington High’s boys take over the top spot in the ‘All-NC’ rankings for the state’s best teams regardless of position.
Former No. 1 Greensboro Day lost 44-42 to Raleigh’s Trinity Academy last week, playing while missing a starter.
Weddington is ranked in top 30 nationally by Ball Is Life, in its ‘Fab 50’ rankings. The Warriors are also No. 1 in the Charlotte Observer’s Sweet 16 poll.
In the girls ranking, Northern Guilford is still No. 1 but North Mecklenburg jumped 11 spots after upsetting two-time N.C. 4A state champion Chambers last week.
