Charlotte Observer readers name Porter Ridge’s CJ Anthony as HS senior of the year
After more than 86,000 votes, Charlotte Observer readers have named Porter Ridge’s CJ Anthony as high school basketball senior of the year.
The media outlet ran a poll for a week that included nominees who were ranked in MaxPreps among the top 20 statewide in points, rebounds, steals or assists.
Anthony earned 33 percent of the vote, finishing ahead of Liberty Prep’s Nathan Adams, South Charlotte Thunder’s Ben Miller and Stuart Cramer’s Will Kelly.
Anthony, a 6-foot-3 senior, has signed to play football at Johnson C. Smith. Anthony averages more than five assists per game, which ranks among the top 20 seniors in North Carolina. He also averages 7.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals for Porter Ridge, which was runner-up to Weddington in last week’s Southern Carolina tournament championship.
The entire list of finalists and their accomplishments are below.
