Lake Norman’s Kirsten Lewis-Williams is Charlotte Observer girls athlete of the week

Lake Norman High School’s Kirsten Lewis-Williams is the Charlotte Observer girls high school athlete of the week.

Lewis-Williams was named the Greater Metro 4A offensive player of the year by the league’s coaches.

The 5-foot-10 junior scored nine points, had eight rebounds, six steals and two assists to lead Lake Norman to a 54-37 win over Cox Mill in the opening round of the 4A state playoffs Feb. 22.

Lewis-Williams added 23 points to go with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 63-40 second round win over Marvin Ridge Feb. 24.

She finished off the week with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 55-44 victory over Watauga in the third round of the 4A playoffs Feb. 26.

Lewis-Williams averaged 15.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, four assists and 4.4 steals for a Lake Norman team (24-3) that reached the N.C. 4A state quarterfinals.
