Hickory Ridge’s Grace Bechtol is Charlotte Observer girls athlete of the week

Hickory Ridge softball player Grace Bechtol is the Charlotte Observer girls high school athlete of the week.

The Ragin’ Bulls’ junior went 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored, while pitching two innings with four strikeouts to close out a 10-1 win over Marvin Ridge March 21.

Bechtol also went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI and a run in a 13-0 victory at Cox Mill March 25.

Bechtol is batting .610 with a home run, five doubles, three triples, eight RBI, 17 runs scored and seven stolen bases for a Hickory Ridge team (8-2) that has won five straight games.
