Marvin Ridge’s Lexi Kirby is The Charlotte Observer girls athlete of the week
Marvin RIdge softball star Lexi Kirby is The Charlotte Observer high school girls athlete of the week.
The Mavericks’ freshman catcher went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored to help Marvin Ridge to a 6-1 win over Porter Ridge in the first round of the 4A state playoffs May 10.
Kirby also went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI in 5-2 win over Northern Guilford in the second round of the playoffs May 12.
Kirby also caught both games with 19 putouts.
Marvin Ridge upset South Meck to advance to the N.C. 4A regional championship Friday.
