Two goalies named Reader’s Choice HS lacrosse players of the year

After nearly 140,000 votes, Christ The King’s Jack Gervasini and Lake Norman Charter’s Aubrey Hamm, both goalies, were selected as The Charlotte Observer’s Reader’s Choice lacrosse players of the year.

To be nominated a player need to rank among the top 10 in a MaxPreps statistical category for the year.

Gervasini won by less than 300 votes over Lake Norman Charter’s Joseph Royster. Gervasini finished with the No. 3 save percentage in the state this season.

Hamm ranked No. 7 in the state in save percentage (0.596).

Note: The Observer will release its annual All-Observer teams with its picks for players and coaches of the year later this month.
