All-Observer Girls Lacrosse: Catholic’s Draddy, Latin’s Williams take top honors
Charlotte Catholic senior Kate Draddy and Charlotte Latin coach Nikki Williams headline the 2022 All-Observer girls lacrosse team.
Draddy, a midfielder, led the Cougars (21-4) to an NCHSAA state runner-up finish. A William & Mary commit, she had 64 goals, 22 assists, 140 draw controls, 65 groundballs and 33 caused turnovers to earn All-American and all-state honors, while also being named the Southwestern/South Meck conference player of the year.
Williams won coach of the year after guiding the Hawks to their third straight NCISAA Division I state championship.
Charlotte Latin was 18-4 this season and is 49-9 in the past three seasons.

Attackers
Delaney Brown, Brown, Davidson Day, Sr.: The Flagler College (Florida) commit and all-state pick had 110 goals, 34 assists and 58 groundballs for the Patriots.
Kate Daniels, Charlotte Catholic, So.: The Cougars’ all-state sophomore scored 57 goals, had 36 assists and 36 groundballs.
Kate Demore, Marvin Ridge, Sr.: The Mavericks’ all-state pick finished her career with 139 goals and 91 assists.
Paige Klingenberg, Charlotte Latin, Sr.: University of Denver commit and all-state pick had 32 goals and 11 groundballs.
Evie McMahan, Charlotte Latin, So.: The Hawks’ all-state sophomore scored 54 goals and had 15 assists and 14 caused turnovers.
Ella Papke, Weddington, Sr.: The Warriors’ senior scored 41 goals and had 23 assists.
Izzy Pierce, Davidson Day, 8th-grader: The Patriots’ all-state attacker had 51 goals and 15 assists.

Peyton Chadwick, Charlotte Catholic, Sr.: All-state performer scored 60 goals to go with 40 groundballs, 57 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers.
Mary Catherine Farley, Charlotte Catholic, So.: All-state pick scored 34 goals, had 52 assists and 43 groundballs.
Brooke Lattanzi, Marvin Ridge, So.: The Mavericks’ all-state sophomore already has 89 career goals in two seasons.
Sydney Schulze, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: The Buccaneers’ all-state performer scored 88 goals, had 50 assists, 122 draw controls, 58 groundballs and 41 caused turnovers.

Molly Baumgratz, Charlotte Catholic, Jr.: University of Delaware commit is an All-American and all-state pick who had 61 goals, 16 assists, 78 draw controls and 38 groundballs for the Cougars.
Kate Draddy, Charlotte Catholic, Sr.: The William & Mary commit is an All-American and all-state pick who had 64 goals, 22 assists, 140 draw controls and 65 groundballs.
Megan Klingenberg, Charlotte Latin, Sr.: University of Denver commit and all-state pick was CISAA player of the year. She had 36 goals, 15 assists and 22 draw controls for the state champions.
Elektra Koulouris, Weddington, So.: The Warriors’ All-American and all-state midfielder had 71 goals, 24 assists, 128 groundballs and 215 draw controls.
Evelyn Scallion, Marvin Ridge, Jr.: Penn State commit was a first-team all-state pick who already has 89 career goals and 212 career draw controls.
Ellie Webb, Weddington, Sr.: St. Joseph’s University commit was an All-American and all-state pick with 48 goals, 34 assists and 202 groundballs.

Parker Cranz, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: The George Washington University commit was an all-state pick for the Bucs.
Siobhan Draddy, Charlotte Catholic, Sr.: The Cougars’ all-state lockdown defender had 35 groundballs, 22 caused turnovers and 15 draw controls.
Emily Knapp, Charlotte Catholic, Sr.: The Cougars’ senior had 35 groundballs for a stingy Catholic defense.
Molly McCleary, Marvin Ridge, Jr.: Third-team all-state pick had 40 groundballs and 22 caused turnovers to help the Marvin Ridge defense.
Anna Montgomery, Myers Park, Jr.: Second-team all-state pick led the Myers Park defense.
Evelyn Palmer, Charlotte Country Day, Sr.: Denison University commit and all-state pick had 294 draw controls, 63 groundballs and 42 caused turnovers; finished Charlotte Country Day career with school-record 570 draw controls.

Meghan Barr, Marvin Ridge, Jr.: First-team all-state goalkeeper had 169 saves for the Mavericks.
Kendall Todd, Davidson Day, Jr.: All-state goalkeeper had 177 saves to help lead Davidson Day to a NCISAA Division II state championship.
Madilyn Wargo, Charlotte Latin, So.: All-state goalkeeper had 78 saves this season, including seven key stops in the NCISAA Division I state title game.
