Central Cabarrus’ Michael Forney is The Charlotte Observer offensive player of the week

Central Cabarrus’ Michael Forney was the hero of his team’s win over Hunter Huss last Friday.

He is The Charlotte Observer offensive player of the week. Forney had 30 carries for 129 yards and two catches for 17 yards in a 32-27 win over Hunter Huss.

He caught the game-winning pass with 16 seconds left.

More than 37,000 votes were tallied this week and Forney finished ahead of East Burke’s Caden Buff and Ardrey Kell’s Brooks Stankavage.
