Here are the NC high school football players of the week, “The Grices Gems,” as selected by Talking Preps co-host Jonathan Grice.

Jaylen Alexander-Raynor, East Forsyth: threw for a touchdown and ran for three in a 37-3 win over Reagan. One of his scoring runs was from 98 yards.

Mason Fortune, Millbrook: in a 58-10 win over Sanderson, Fortune threw for 496 yards and six touchdowns. He has thrown 13 touchdown passes in the past two weeks. For the season, Fortune has 1,733 yards passing, 20 touchdowns and a 144.3 QB rating.

Aaron Steele Logan, Charlotte Latin: Senior had 13 tackles, including one tackle for a loss, in a 21-14 win over Legion Collegiate. On offense, he ran 13 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

AJ Sirianni, Community School of Davidson: In a 68-21 win over Bishop McGuinness, Siranni didn’t play in the fourth quarter, but had a memorable night. He completed 25-of-33 passes for 465 yards and eight touchdowns. His yardage ties for 19th most in Mecklenburg County history. His touchdowns are tied for the third-most ever. Only one quarterback, Davidson Day’s Will Grier, has thrown for more than eight. Grier had a game with nine and a game with 10 during his career 10 years ago.

Jawarn Howell, Mooresville: ran for 285 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-30 win over Cox Mill where Mooresville dominated time of possession with its running game.
