As Hurricane Ian approaches, high schools move football games to avoid the weather
Hurricane Ian is expected to dump heavy rains on the Charlotte-area when it arrives Friday, and most area high schools are moving games up to avoid the storm.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will move all of its games to Thursday and many area districts are doing the same.
With CMS games being played Thursday, the district will move its junior varsity games to next Monday. Those JV games are usually played on Thursday.
Throughout the state, schools are moving games up as the weather is expected to hit the state, and the Charlotte-area Friday. One area game, Mountain Island Charter at Winston-Salem Prep, has been moved to Wednesday.
