Here are the N.C. high school football players of the week for Week 8 of the season.

Adriel Miller, Central Cabarrus: 11 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-24 win over East Rowan.

Keyon Phillips, Concord: in a 54-19 win over South Rowan, Phillips accounted for six total touchdowns. He completed 6-of-8 passes for 92 yards and three scores. He ran 13 times for 127 yards and three scores.

Javier Rice, Asheville Christian: in a 49-41 loss to McCormick, Rice was 33-of-53 for 543 yards and six touchdowns.

Trenton Cloud, Northwest Guilford: In a 52-20 win over Northern Guilford, Cloud caught five passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Northwest Guilford has won 5-of-6 games. Cloud has nearly 700 yards receiving, 8 TDs and QB Tanner Ballou has thrown for 1,561 yards and 21 TDs

Mason Avery, West Lincoln: in a 35-26 win over Newton-Conover, Avery ran 35 times for a school-record 397 yards and two touchdowns. Avery’s performance is the 41st best public rushing performance in history. On defense, Avery had 11 tackles and two tackles for a loss.
