Lincolnton’s Katherine Hopkins is The Charlotte Observer’s girls high school athlete of the week.
The Wolves’ senior ran a 19:08 to win the 2A West Regional by nearly 50 seconds on Asheville Christian’s home course Oct. 29.
Hopkins led her Lincolnton girls’ cross country team to a 12th-place finish in the same meet.
