Here are the NC High School football players of the week.
These “Grices Gems” are revealed by Talking Preps co-host Jonathan Grice on the show each Tuesday night at 8.
Andrew Attmore, Dudley: in a 51-13 win over Eastern Guilford, Attmore was 19-of-27 passing for 290 yards and six touchdowns. He also had two 2-point conversion runs.
Mason Avery, West Lincoln: In a 49-48 double-overtime win over Lincolnton, Avery rushed 34 times for 283 yards, he had one catch for 16 yards and totaled five touchdowns. On defense, he had 12 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack. His 2,367 yards rushing is a Lincoln County single-season record.
Carter Revelle, Scotland County: completed 10-of-16 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns in a 22-21 win at Richmond Senior. Revelle’s touchdown pass with less than two minutes left closed Richmond’s lead to 21-19 and then Revelle caught the game-winning 2-point conversion on a Philly Special play from teammate Cayden Graves. Scotland won on a night when Richmond held Scotland County to 29 yards rushing and ran for 303 of its own.
Jed West, Smoky Mountain: in a 58-18 win over East Henderson, West accounted for seven touchdowns. He threw for 320 yards and five scores. He ran for 72 yards and two scores.
Hudson Shoudy, Covenant Day: in a 52-6 win over SouthLake Christian, Shoudy forced two fumbles, both of led to scores. He recovered three fumbles, had four tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and 8.5 total tackles. He also blocked a point-after touchdown.
