Talking Preps NC (11.15.22): Previewing Week 3 of the NC high school football playoffs

A new Talking Preps in on deck for Tuesday night (11.15) at 8 p.m., with replays after.

Gary and Grice discuss the tragic news that hit Hough High this week after a former Huskies star, Devin Chandler, was shot and killed. Chandler was one of three University of Virginia players killed by a former player.

Dale gives us his three biggest surprises from a wild second week of the postseason, a round that took three days to finish.

Gary and Dale discuss the recently announced Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools investigation into the Chambers High booster club.

Grice and Greiner feature the “Grices Gems,” aka the NC high school football players of the week. They are Patrick Blee, South Point; Ty Broughton, Millbrook; Christian Perris, Princeton; Hudson Stalun, Pine Lake Prep; and JyMikaah Wells, Salisbury.

Chris Hughes, the No. 1 voice of N.C. high school football, is back to lead a discussion about all of the NCHSAA and NCISAA playoffs, breaking each class down by east and west -- plus a look at the private school state finals.

Chris also has this week’s statewide N.C. high school rankings. and Chelsea sits down with Cannon School star Will Jones.

Grice and Greiner introduce four new “Fresh Faces:” Ledford’s Nathan Carr, Crest’s Aiden Carson, AC Reynolds’ Jarod Glenn and Southern Alamance’s Logan Faust.

And, finally, we’ll end with “Coach vs. Coach,” where Chris, Grice and Greiner debate Kanye West, Kyrie Irving, Drake Maye and adding an official for the rest of the NC playoffs.
