Marvin Ridge swimmer Charlie Heisig is The Charlotte Observer boys high school athlete of the week.
The Mavericks’ junior swam state qualifying cuts as he won all four events he competed in as Marvin Ridge beat Union Academy and Weddington at Mecklenburg Aquatic Center (MAC) Nov. 15.
Heisig won the 100 backstroke (53.61), the 200 individual medley (1:56.65) and helped both the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle teams to victory in the season opening meet.
