There’s a new No. 1 in The Charlotte Observer’s Sweet 16 high school football poll.

Providence Day, the NC Independent Schools Division I state champion, moves up to the top spot. The Chargers, who have won back-to-back state titles for the first time, moved to No. 1 after unbeaten East Lincoln upset Kings Mountain at home Friday.

Kings Mountain fell from No. 1 to seventh. East Lincoln jumped eight spots to No. 5. Draughn, a 1A school which joined the poll last week, jumped 10 spots to No. 6.
