Cannon School’s Jamyrah Cherry is The Charlotte Observer’s girls high school basketball athlete of the week.
The 5-foot-10 sophomore scored 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 63-53 win over N.C. GBB Academy in the Queen City Showcase at Northside Christian Jan. 7.
Cherry recorded her second double-double of the season.
Cherry is averaging 7.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for Cannon School this season.
