North Iredell’s Beckham Tharpe is The Charlotte Observer’s boys high school athlete of the week.
The 6-foot-8 senior scored a career-high 50 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals in an 88-50 win over Fred T. Foard Jan. 20.
North Iredell also won 76-54 at West Iredell Jan. 17.
Tharpe is averaging 27 points and 12 rebounds per game for North Iredell (11-7) this season.
