Three new teams - from Mecklenburg, Iredell and Burke Co. - join The Observer Sweet 16

Three new teams join The Observer’s Sweet 16 high school basketball poll this week.

On the boys side, Charlotte Latin and Lake Norman are Nos. 15 and 16. Charlotte Latin upset Cannon on Tuesday, which dropped the Cougars two spots to No. 7.

Lake Norman has won five of its past six games.

On the girls side, East Burke is in the poll this week. East Burke has won 14 straight games.
