Concord’s Brayden Blue is The Charlotte Observer’s boys HS athlete of the week

Concord High basketball player Brayden Blue is The Observer’s boys high school athlete of the week.

The 6-foot-3 senior scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had two assists in a 75-41 win over North Iredell in the opening round of the 3A state playoffs Feb. 21.

Blue followed that up with a career-high 29 points to go with five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block in a 67-58 loss at South Point in the second round of the playoffs Feb. 23.

Blue averaged 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game for Concord (19-9) this season.
