New No. 1 in The Observer’s HS Baseball Sweet 16. This Meck power has won 7 straight

There’s a new No. 1 in The Observer’s Sweet 16 high school baseball poll.

South Mecklenburg has won seven straight games since losing 5-1 to Weddington March 1. Weddington dropped to No. 2. The Warriors are 2-2 in their past four games.

The Sweet 16 is a ranking of the top teams in The Charlotte Observer’s coverage area which includes teams in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln and Union Counties.
