Carmel Christian’s Owen Akers is The Charlotte Observer’s boys high school athlete of the week.
The Cougars’ junior won all three of his No. 1 singles’ matches as Carmel Christian beat Charlotte Country Day (6-3, March 28), Charlotte Latin (5-4, March 29) and Covenant Day (9-0, March 30).
Akers also won his two doubles’ matches with teammate Noah Daniels, against Country Day and Latin.
