Two new teams join The Observer’s Sweet 16 high school baseball poll
Providence Day and Hickory Grove join this week’s Charlotte Observer Sweet 16 poll.
Providence had won five of its past six games before Wednesday’s schedule home game with Cannon School. Hickory Grove has won four straight.
▪ Note: records are through Tuesday’s games. The Sweet 16 ranks the top 16 teams in The Observer’s coverage area, schools in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln and Union Counties that belong to a recognized state association.
