Cannon School softball player Jolie Matthews is The Charlotte Observer’s girls high school athlete of the week.
The sophomore outfielder went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs, a RBI and a walk in a 15-0 win over Charlotte Country Day April 17.
The next day, Matthews was 2-for-2 with a triple, a RBI and two runs scored in a 17-1 victory at Charlotte Country Day.
Matthews also went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in a 7-4 loss at Providence Day April 20.
Matthews is batting .528 with a home run, three triples, four doubles, eight RBI and 23 runs scored for Cannon School.
