Pine Lake Prep’s Gabe Bolivar is The Charlotte Observer/Deer Park high school football offensive player of the week.
In a 60-44 win against Winston-Salem Carver, Bolivar ran 37 times for 416 yards and six touchdowns. He had two 2-point conversions, finishing with a school- and county-record 40 points. Boliver also set school records for single-season rushing yards (2,029) and rushing TDs in a season (23) with Friday’s performance.
For the season, Bolivar’s 2,029 rushing yards lead North Carolina and is fifth nationally.
