Here are rosters for the Queen City Senior Bowl high school football all-star game
The fifth annual Queen City Senior Bowl is Dec. 16 at Olympic High School. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
The game features 80 Charlotte-area seniors and has expanded through the years to include more regional players.
This year, eligible players came from Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union counties. Players came from 55 different high schools this year.
The Queen City game will be played during a busy week for high school football all-star games.
The annual East-West all-star game in Greensboro has moved from its July date to Dec. 17. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at Grimsley High School in Greensboro. No Charlotte-area players were selected for the game.
Officials for the East-West game told The Observer that many nominated players for the game are playing in the Shrine Bowl.
The Shrine Bowl game will be played at Spartanburg High School Dec. 16, the same day as the Queen City game.
Queen City pep rally
The Queen City Senior Bowl provides a portion of its proceeds to the Metro School in uptown Charlotte. The Metro School serves more than 250 cognitively disabled students ranging in age from 3 to 22.
Friday at 8:30, players and coaches from the Queen City Senior Bowl will host a pep rally at the school and engage with the students. At noon, the players and coaches will eat lunch with the Metro faculty and students.
