Talking Preps: Does NC high school basketball need a shot clock?

On the latest Talking Preps (live at 8 p.m. Monday on YouTube):

Randall Clark and Rick Lewis reveal their picks for the top players from last week’s games, and two players join us live in studio.

Clark and Lewis also reveal the first Mr. and Ms. Basketball watchlists for the season. Ultimately they will hand out the state’s oldest and most prestigious award to one boys’ and one girls’ player. The Observer has handed out Mr. and Ms. Basketball for 40 years. It is the biggest high school basketball award in North Carolina.

We debut a new segment, “Who Balled Out,” where we feature video highlights from area players.

Get previews for the week’s top boys’ and girls’ games.

On “The Roundtable” segment, the crew debates whether NC high schools should add a shot clock.

Finally on “Coach vs. Coach,” Clark and Gary Richmond debate shot clocks, CMS conference tournaments and how is the best way to determine the player of the year.
