What are the top high school basketball teams in North Carolina? Check our latest polls

There are six new teams in the latest North Carolina high school basketball rankings from The Charlotte Observer and News & Observer of Raleigh.

In the private school boys’ rankings, Victory Christian (21-7) and Davidson Day (16-6) return to the polls.

In the NCHSAA boys’ polls, there are five new teams: Mount Tabor (14-4) in 4A; Swansboro (17-1), Central Davidson (18-1) and Southern Durham (10-4) in 3A; and Northampton County (11-4) in 1A.

On the girls’ side, there is just one new team, 3A J.M. Robinson (13-3). There is a new No. 1 on the girls’ side, however. Falls Lake Charter (19-2) moved up one spot to No. 1. Bishop McGuinness, which lost 59-33 to 4A Charlotte Catholic last week, fell to No. 2.
