Talking Preps: NCHSAA basketball playoff preview show

On the annual Talking Preps’ NCHSAA basketball playoffs preview show (Monday night at 8 p.m., replays after):

Alex Bass, Rick Lewis, Gary Richmond, Randall Clark and Cameron Williams break down the NCHSAA basketball playoffs, with early predictions, possible upsets and more.

Clark highlights his girls’ players of the week: Elle Stone, Mallard Creek; Skylar Fleck, Ardrey Kell; Kaylee Carson, Independence; Shiree Gidney, Hickory Ridge; and Mallard Creek’s Alana Biosse, who joins us in studio.

Lewis highlights his boys’ players of the week: Isaiah Denis, Davidson Day; Xavier Perry, Victory Christian; K.J. Younger, Weddington; Santana Lynch, Lake Norman; and Butler’s Tyler Showalter, who joins us in studio.

We highlight the NCISAA state champions, discuss if there is any N.C. team that could handle 3A girls’ champ Grace Christian, and highlight an idea that could make the private school championships even better.

Finally on “Coach vs. Coach,” Clark and Richmond debate whether Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools should create a plan to move a potential Myers Park-North Mecklenburg quarterfinal game in two weeks; whether of not the NCHSAA should move its new one-week regional/state championship format to different cities; and after what happened to Duke’s Kyle Filipowski, should court storming be banned for high school and colleges nationwide.
