The nation’s No. 2 high school football player is in Charlotte. Here are his 6 final schools
Providence Day offensive lineman David Sanders, the nation’s No. 2 college football recruit in the class of 2025, announced his top six schools via social media Saturday afternoon.
They are: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Sanders was named a MaxPreps’ All-American, a first team All Charlotte Observer player and the N.C. Gatorade player of the year after his junior season. Sanders is ranked the nation’s No. 2 overall college football prospect by Rivals and 247 Sports. He had nearly 40 major Division I football offers.
At 6-foot-7, 270-pounds, Sanders played on the offensive and defensive lines for the NC Independent Schools state champion.
On offense, he helped the Chargers’ offense produce more than 3,700 passing yards in 13 games, while averaging 8.6 yards per rushing attempt. Sanders graded out at 93 percent as an offensive lineman and had 11 pancake blocks.
On defense, he had 24 tackles, four sacks and 32 quarterback hurries.
